The children’s fun zone on the Télé-Québec Website (La zone de jeux pour les petits) is an environment filled with games, activities and videos geared towards children aged 3 to 5. This year, La zone de jeux pour les petits, the brainchild of a collaborative effort between Télé-Québec and Turbulent, has added new games and a new parents’ area to Le monde de Zéphir (Zéphir’s World), originally produced by Tribal Nova.
In Zéphir’s World, the little ones can now travel to outer space, where they will find the games classified according to seven skill areas, all appropriate to the three-to-five age group: pre-math, observation, pre-reading, creativity, coordination, play and memory.
As well, we have developed eight game templates suitable for three-to-five-year-olds that can be adapted to a limitless variety of themes. With these new templates, it is now possible for Télé-Québec to create new games quickly and easily and in this way to increase the range of games made available in Zéphir’s World on a regular basis.
Another new feature is the parents’ area, where parents can create a profile for each of their children, giving them (the parents) access to statistical reports that indicate their children’s activities and areas of interest in the children’s fun zone.
The children’s fun zone on the Télé-Québec Website (La zone de jeux pour les petits) was produced in collaboration with Furaxe, Zabelle inc. and Geneviève Desautels and was made possible in part by funding from the Canada Media Fund (CMF).
